Sutureless Cataract Surgery
Dr. Davison uses that latest technology for cataract surgery. His surgical technique requires no stitches, no injections and no patching. Patients are able to bend over and lift after surgery, and can have their second eye operated on as soon as two weeks after the first. The surgery is done as an outpatient surgical procedure, meaning that you go home the same day. Most patients will be in the surgery center for about 2 hours. The procedure itself usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and is done with local anesthetic drops and mild sedation. There is no pain with modern cataract surgical techniques, and the chance of improving the vision is about ninety seven percent. Most patients require no glasses for their distance vision, and use only non-prescription glasses for reading. A number of patients opt for the implantation of special lenses to correct for astigmatism or to eliminate the need for both distance and reading glasses. Although there is an out-of-pocket expenses for these choices, we offer great financing options through CitiBank for those patients who would like to consider a premium lens implant. Feel free to ask our staff, Dr. Davison or Dr. Price for details.
