Medical Eye Examinations
A general medical eye exam includes (but is not limited to) a measurement of your vision, determination of you eye pressure, a determination of glasses prescription (if necessary), a complete evaluation of the anterior structures of the eye, with a complete dilated retinal exam. All findings are completely discussed with the patient and all questions are answered in detail.
If a patient is established in our practice, and has had a recent dilated examination, dilation of the eyes may not be necessary on each visit. The doctor will determine if dilation is appropriate when you come in for your appointment.
Patients who are dilated will have a mild blurring of their vision. If you are scheduled to be dilated, please bring someone to drive you home, unless you are certain that you can drive safely while dilated.
